Project 12 - March

I have actually had this spread sitting on my desk for a few weeks now.  I just haven't had a chance to photo it and get it up on my blog.  But I am finally getting it up.  Three months in and I am still loving the monthly spreads.  Its definitely the way forward for me.  I am loving the fact that I have managed to get some other layouts done during the months especially thanks to a crop with friends and then the weekend away at Autumn Escape, which was just amazing!  I  just loved it, and if I could I would just love to go away on those kind of weekends as often as possible.

Back to March

Highlights include:
  • Connors 13th Birthday.  This was a big one and we celebrated by taking the family and some friends to Rainbows End for the day.  The whole left side has some photos from here.
  • Connor was given money from everyone for his birthday as he wanted to buy an Ipad.  He was pretty excited when we went and bought it.
  • Riley's cricket finished for the season and the next day Rugby started with a tournament.  No such thing as a break around here!  :o)
  • Marks Uncle Ron died which was very sad.  All of the Renfree's came to stay at our place for an unexpected reunion  Its the first time everyone has been together in years.  Shame about the reason though.
  • I found some random photos of Riley on my phone of his making spit bubbles.  I love it when I find these kind of photos

And then we are on to April and a third of the year is over.  Its funny how easily you can count down the year when you are doing this.  April has been a busy month although I have struggled to take photos.  I really need to get the camera out more again.   Doing the monthly format though I'm sure I will still have enough for the recap.

Project 12 - February

So we are almost through March and I have finally got February's page done.  Highlights of the month and photos capured include:

  • The boys got to go to Nitro Circus
  • Both boys went back to school - Riley in Year 5, Connor in Year 9
  • I spent an unfortunate week in A&E and then Hospital over an infected toe (more about that in March)
  • Mark's Frangipani
  • Our amazing weather (summer has just gone on and on and on and on!)
  • Riley having an awesome partnership at cricket
  • My picture eecard I txt to Mark on Valentines Day
  • Our daily coffee from our coffee machine (yum!)

And with that, february is done.  All summed up and we can move on to March...which means summer is over.  I'm feeling more than a little sad about that!

Nitro Circus

So my latest layout is for a challenge at Gossamer Blue.  It is a special challenge they have paired up with Elle's Studio for.  A scraplift challenge using Elle's Studio products.  So I thought I would give it a whirl.

I decided I would scraplift this awesome layout by Davinie Fiero.  I love her layouts.

and here is my layout of the boys night out to Nitro Circus:

I used lots of Elle Studio tags, under my title, for my journalling, date and also at the top as well.   Great to get this photo done since the boys had such a great night out.

Project 12 - January

So last year I did Project Life and by the end of the year I felt a bit burnt out and was also quite behind.  I still love the concept though so when I saw Davinie Fiero's challenge at Gossamer Blue for Project 12 I knew that it was what I wanted to do this year.  A double page spread for each month.  I am hoping its going to be more manageable and also leave me more time to also scrap more layouts which I didn't do last year and missed.

So here is my January layout  I haven't done a title page yet.  Not sure what I want to do for mine yet.

Most of the layout focuses on our week camping at Cook's beach on the Coromandel as that's when I took the most photos but I am ok with that as that's what I always remember most about January each year.

And now roll on February.  I'm loving that I've got two weeks spare time before I need to do the February spread.

Time for a clean slate

So I didn't make any new years resolutions this year, but one thing I did say to myself that I was going to do was I am going to get back into my scrapbooking again.  I did Project Life last year, and somewhere around October I lost my way and gave up and put it in the too hard basket.  But while doing Project Life I started missing doing layouts.

So this year I want to find the joy again and do more layouts.  And I want to get back to blogging.  And if there is anyone out there to read it and see what I do, well then I guess thats a bonus.
